The animated series was announced on October 2, 2013. On its blog, Sega posted a teaser image of the silhouettes of the four main characters - Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy. On February 6, 2014, an excerpt from the first episode of the animated series was presented, from which it became known that all characters would receive a slightly modified appearance different from what you are used to in games.
