Polymer clay earrings for the new year. We make decorations for the New Year: snowflake earrings made of polymer clay. For work you will need

Very soon New Year... Toys, tinsel, tangerines and, of course, the tree. Why not make herringbone earrings from polymer clay do it yourself for a symbolic meeting of the new year? After all, we select beautiful outfits, prepare delicious ones.
to make the holiday a success. In this turmoil, do not forget about the little things. For example, such as jewelry. Celebrating the New Year in such cute earrings, you will delight yourself and your loved ones. And the winter is so long, and the earrings made with your own hands will warm you and delight you throughout its entire length.

To make New Year's Christmas tree earrings from polymer clay you will need:

- polymer clay (red and white);
- roller (you can use a glass with a smooth, glass surface);
- blade;
- fabric with a large texture (I use a mosquito net, you can replace it with jeans or burlap);
- metal fittings (rings and ear wires);
- a sketch of a Christmas tree.

How I make herringbone earrings from polymer clay with my own hands

1: On a piece of paper in a box I draw a half of a Christmas tree. I fold the sheet in half so that the branches of the tree are symmetrical.

2: With scissors along the contour, I cut out the blank of the Christmas tree. Thus, both sides are completely the same.

3: kneading red plastic. I roll it out 3-4 mm thick. The main thing is that the plastic is not rolled out very thinly. Since after firing it will be fragile, and New Year's Christmas tree earrings made of polymer clay may break.
I apply the fabric to the rolled layer and press it into the workpiece with a rolling pin. You don't need to press hard. When you remove the fabric, it can tear the material behind it, and the printed pattern will come out with torn edges.

4: I put the Christmas tree template on the layer and lightly press it with my fingers, so that it would be more convenient to cut it. With a sharp blade, I cut a herringbone along the contour of the template.

5: Using a stack or a toothpick, I smooth out irregularities around the edges.

6: Roll the white material into a thin sausage. Approximately 1mm and cut into small pieces.

7: I form droplets from each piece of white plastic. And I create a flower with five petals from them. Pressing each petal with a needle in a circle.

8: I make notches along the contour of each side of the Christmas tree with a needle

9: I roll the white plastic into a thin thread and cut pieces from it, which I insert into each notch on the New Year's Christmas tree earrings made of polymer clay, imitating threads.

10: With a toothpick at the head of the tree I make a hole for which the fittings will be attached.

11: Roll out small balls of red material and insert them into the center of the flowers. This makes the flowers look more interesting.

I send blanks of earrings made of polymer clay "Yolki" to be baked in the oven at the temperature indicated on the package (I bake for 10 minutes at 130 degrees).
12: Let the Christmas tree-shaped polymer clay earrings cool and collect their decoration. With the help of platypuses, I unbend the ring in different directions and insert it into the blank of the Christmas tree. I hang the hooks for the loop and close the ring.

To work you need:

  • Polymer clay (baked): white, red, black, orange
  • Toothpicks
  • Stationery knife or blade
  • Work surface (glass, sheet of paper or ceramic tile)
  • Wet wipes
  • Varnish Fimo (or any other special varnish for polymer clay)
  • Glue (moment)
  • Ear hooks
  • Connecting rings
  • Pins with an eyelet

Step-by-step instruction

Before starting work, we will give you an advice: before starting to make our decoration, you must thoroughly wipe your hands with wet wipes or wash them with soap in order to avoid contamination of polymer clay. It attracts dust, dirt, various lint and so on very strongly. We do the same with each transition to a different color.

  1. Let's move on to making our unusual earrings. Let's start with white clay. We take and knead polymer clay in our hands until it becomes soft and plastic. Then we will divide it into two identical pieces (since there will be 2 earrings). Roll up balls from the separated material.
  2. From the resulting balls, we will make two more. One larger (for the bottom of the snowman), the second larger (for the head of the snowman). We try to roll equal balls so that the earring is the same size.
  3. We connect two balls (large and small) by overlapping each other, attach them to each other. We do the same with the second pair.
  4. And so, the basis for our beautiful snowmen is ready. Let's start making hats for them. Take the red polymer clay. We roll up small red circles, then stretch each circle a little, creating the shape of a small cone or drop.
  5. In order for our hats to be put on the heads of snowmen, we stick a toothpick in the center of our cone. You do not need to stick it through, but simply create a hole in order to then put on hats on our handsome men. You will get two identical red caps, which will then serve as a great addition to the figures.
  6. Now we put our hats on the heads of the snowmen. The next step: roll out two thin strips of red clay.
  7. To decorate our resulting hats, we attach our red stripes along the edges. Cut off the excess strips with a knife.
  8. We take a toothpick and add volume to our edges of the caps. Using point movements loosen the edging, give a certain texture.
  9. Let's start making cute faces for our snowmen. Let's take orange polymer clay to create carrot spouts. We roll two small balls out of clay. Flatten these balls a little in order to get the shape of a cone or droplet (elongated). We made our little carrots.
  10. In the next step, we glue our carrots to the faces of the snowmen. Right under the piping of the cap.
  11. Let's go back to our hats. Take again white polymer clay, roll up two small balls, which we will then use as pom-poms. We attach the rolled balls to the end of the cap for each snowman. In the same way as for the piping of the caps, give the pom-poms a loose texture. We take a toothpick, with point movements we go around the entire perimeter of the pompom. The three-dimensional effect is ready, the hats began to look like real and warm.
  12. Let's dress our snowmen in scarves. And then New Year is winter time, we will not let them freeze. Take the red polymer clay. Roll out two strips and flatten them a little with a toothpick or with your hands.
  13. Now we put our scarves on the snowmen, create a loose texture in the way described earlier (with a toothpick).
  14. Next, we finish the faces. Roll up two small balls of black clay and attach.
  15. We roll up two more small black balls (peas) and decorate the fur coat for our snowmen. Our snowmen are completely ready-made and decorated.
  16. Now we stick a pin with an eyelet into the top of the cap, which will hold our jewelry.
  17. We pass already to the end of our work. We bake our handsome men in the oven. When baking, you need to follow the instructions on the clay packaging. For example, for German polymer clay Fimo, it takes 20-30 minutes at a temperature of no more than 110 C.
  18. After we have baked our snowmen, we will stick them out and wait until they cool down. We cover them with varnish (preferably special for polymer). Now we are waiting for the varnish to dry. We take Moment glue or universal glue of your choice and glue the pins.
  19. And the most final stage is attaching hooks to our snowmen.

We have completed the production of our beautiful and unusual earrings - Snowmen. They will be an unforgettable gift and decoration. You can change colors and make snowmen with blue or green scarves and hats. Use them as Christmas tree decorations or decorative elements. Good luck, you have made an unusual thing that everyone will be delighted with, and which will look great everywhere!

Maintaining the holiday mood, we decided to tell you about several ways of how you can make your own jewelry for the New Year, in particular, earrings in the form of snowflakes, made of special materials.

Polymer clay earrings - method one

Let it not scare you that it is proposed to use polymer clay, this method is so simple that even a beginner can cope with it.

White, a roller for rolling out clay (metal or silicone), a painted snowflake, a cutter, a needle, a work surface (it can be glass or ceramic tiles, the main thing is that they have a smooth surface), silver acrylic paint, a nail file (sandpaper).

Work progress:

1. We knead the polymer clay to a very soft state, roll it out into a layer about 1 or 1.5 cm thick. In this case, it must be rolled out immediately on the one on which it will be baked in the oven.

2. We apply a snowflake drawing face down to the clay and roll it out a little with a roller so that it "passes" onto the clay (it is good if it is a printed drawing). Leave the paper in this position for 2 minutes so that the ink prints better, and then carefully remove the paper from the surface of the clay.

3. We take a thin cutter and slowly cut the snowflake along the contours. This must be done very carefully, since then it will be impossible to correct the errors.

4. Also, do not forget to make a small hole on one tip of the snowflake, for which it will then be attached to the earring ring. After that, the clay can be baked (how to do it correctly, at what temperature and how long will be written on the clay packaging).

5. Then, when the product is baked, we cool it down and start grinding.

6. In this case, the author of this method, Olga Solntseva, advises using a cotton pad rather than a brush to apply paint, since it can be used to achieve a more uniform application. Make sure that the paint fits snugly on both sides of the snowflake.

8. Now the snowflake can be attached to the earring ring. That's it, the accessory is ready for the New Year!

Polymer clay earrings - method two

Those who already know how to work a little with polymer clay will appreciate the following option for making festive earrings.

Required materials and tools: again - takiza the basis is taken, as well as pearl powder and varnish for polymer clay, sugar or salt, liquid polymer clay (optional), work surface, jewelry pins, ruler, brush, toothpicks, pliers and round-nose pliers.

Work progress:

1. As always, we start by kneading the clay. Then we make a sausage out of it and roll it out until it becomes very thin, about 2 mm in diameter. It is very important that it be as even as possible along the entire length, it depends on how neat the decoration will turn out.

2. Now we cut the clay into three equal pieces. They should be as long as you want the snowflake to be. V this example, the author Starkova Ekaterina decided to stop at a length of 3 cm. After that, the three obtained pieces must be molded into a snowflake, fastening them together in the middle.

3. Next, we make many small balls out of clay, their diameter should also be 2-3 mm. We stick them to the base of the snowflake as shown in the photo. This is done with a toothpick or a stack. It is very important: if you see that the clay has already lost its plasticity, lubricate the attachment points of the balls with liquid clay.

4. Since our snowflake has a complex pattern, we form 5 more thin flagella from clay, each 1 or 1.5 cm long. They must be glued between the main lines of the product so that they form arcs located between two adjacent rays.

5. In order to complete the pattern, we attach one more ball to the middle of each arc, and also do not forget to make a hole on one of the rays in order to then attach the product to a special ring. To do this, make the last small ball, crush it into a cake and glue it securely to the beam. Pierce the hole with a toothpick.

6. Next, you need to roll four more, but larger balls. So, two of them should have a diameter equal to 1.3 cm, and the other two - 0.7 cm. They must be rolled in sugar or salt so that the surface takes on a beautiful relief shape.

7. Now, you need to string four balls on jewelry pins and send them to bake along with ready-made snowflakes. After they are baked, they must be put in water for 10 minutes to melt the sugar (or salt).

8. Back to our snowflakes. After baking, they must be painted with a special varnish for polymer clay. However, to give them a shine, it can be mixed with a dash of pearlescent powder. For convenience, pass a toothpick into the holes in the snowflakes and, holding on to it, paint the product on both sides.

9. Leaving the snowflakes to dry, take the balls and bend the ends of the pins into loops using round nose pliers. It is clear that if their length is longer than necessary, then the excess must be cut off. Hook the two balls together.

10. Now we attach snowflakes to the balls. Then we attach the hooks to the upper element. The earring is ready. The other is going in the same way. These earrings will be a great addition to your wardrobe or an original gift for the New Year.

Making polymer clay jewelry is a very popular hobby today. Making beads and earrings is not difficult at all, the process takes a little time, and the result is amazing. You feel like a real jeweler, ready to create an original piece for any event. Try to mold polymer clay earrings for the New Year. They will be a great gift for your sister or girlfriend, or they will make you look original and festive.

Master class: choosing materials and tools

If you are not yet a very experienced sculptor, then let's figure out the material. Polymer clay is a thermoplastic, that is, a material resembling plasticine in consistency, easily taking the desired shape and hardening in the oven. You can buy clay of the color you need in the online store. The most popular are Fimo products from Eberhard Faber. It is softer - Soft and traditional - Classic.

If you start working with polymer clay, you will also need to purchase a glass work surface, blades and needles, glue, etc.

Now it's time to think about how our earrings will look like for the new year. To begin with, we choose a design suitable for the theme of the holiday. Herringbone earrings or lollipops will look cute. It's easy to make them. To create Christmas trees, we need:

  • Green polymer clay
  • Thin and thick blades
  • Needle
  • Rings and hooks
  • Printed template

As you can see, you will need a little materials.

Master class: sculpt a Christmas tree

First, find a beautiful template for our Christmas tree on the Internet and print it. It is better if the paper is thick, because it will be easier to work with in the future.

We cut out our stencil and start creating from polymer clay.
Roll out the plate to the thickness you need, remember that the product should not be too thin, the best option is 0.5 cm. Now attach our stencil to the material and slightly press it into the mass. Take a thicker blade and carefully cut the tree out along the outline. Remember that the two earrings must be perfectly symmetrical. Now let's make a hole at the top of the tree. After drying, we will insert a clasp into them.
Our New Year's earrings are almost ready, but in order for them to harden, we will place the product in the oven. Carefully read the instructions on the polymer clay plate: how long and at what temperature the heat treatment is carried out.
When the earrings have hardened, you should wait until they cool completely. After that, the craft can be coated with water-based varnish, which will give durability and prevent the colors from fading. We insert rings into the holes on which we will attach the hook, that is, the hook-lock. Now our Christmas earrings are completely ready.

If you are more sophisticated in working with polymer clay, then the product will seem too boring. If you want to decorate the product, then it will take a little more materials, skills and time.
Purchase additionally:

  • Multi-colored polymer clay
  • Liquid plastic
  • Sequins, glitters

After you have cut the trees out of the green clay, knead the white clay and mix it with the liquid plastic until creamy. From the multi-colored resin, create small balls that you will attach to the tree. Start painting with white gel on a green surface, the drawing should resemble fluffy white snow lying on the branches of a tree. Attach miniatures to the snow Christmas decorations... The final stage is sparkles scattered over the entire surface of the product. After that, you can bake it. Now your earrings look really festive and bright.
Which version of the product to choose depends on you, in any case you will be unique with such a decoration.

On the eve of the new year, we are all waiting for a miracle, the fulfillment of desires, and we are just in a hurry to complete unfinished business in order to breathe out and step into the new year with renewed vigor. But we must not forget about the holiday itself. Why not make a bright, symbolic decoration with your own hands and celebrate the new year in it?

In this checkout counter you will see how to make earrings from polymer clay "Christmas balls" with your own hands

For work you will need:

- polymer clay (I use white, gray and red);
- acrylic paint;
- brush;
- glue moment;
- blade;
- rolling pin or paste machine (if there are no special tools, you can use a glass object with a smooth surface, for example, a glass);
- varnish for polymer clay;
- sparkles.

How I make Christmas balls earrings from polymer clay

I knead white and gray polymer clay. I roll it into a sausage, cut and form balls. The approximate size of the ball is 1 cm.

Why did I take plastic for the base different color? If you use glitter in dark shades, then they look better on a dark base. Light - on light.

By the way, multi-colored polymer clay can also be made in the form of a Teddy bear.

I string the ball onto a toothpick and dip it into a jar of sparkles. I twist the toothpick in a circle so that the sparkles cover the entire surface without voids.

The balls can be rolled in the palms. Then the glitter will stick better to the surface. But remember to wash your hands after each color to avoid mixing them with each other.

I knead the red polymer clay and roll it out to an approximate thickness of 2 mm.

I cut off the uneven edges of the layer and cut it into thin, identical stripes, from which I will make bows for earrings from polymer clay "Christmas balls". Fold the strip with the ends in the center, forming a bow, and press the edges to secure them to each other.

I cut a strip thinner and glue it to the middle of the bow, pressing it down with a stack (or a toothpick), thus fixing the two halves of the bow.

I cut the remaining end of the thin strip in the middle. It turns out little bow tails.

I glue the bow to the center of the ball, in the place where I left the hole from the toothpick. I press the bow with my fingers. Trying not to damage its shape. I insert a toothpick into the middle of the bow to make a hole for the pin.
I send the bows to be baked at the temperature indicated on the polymer clay packaging (I bake for 10 minutes at 130 degrees).
I take out the balls and, while they are warm, remove them from the toothpicks. Since it will be very difficult to do when it cools down.

I take a thin brush (you can use a toothpick) and acrylic paint... I draw white and blue polka dots on the bows.

I put the future earrings "Christmas balls" made of polymer clay on toothpicks and varnish them to fix the glitter and acrylic paint on the surface.

I dip the pin in the glue. I also drip glue into the center of the hole and insert the pin. I press it down with my fingers for a few seconds to secure the pin to the ball.

I bite off the head with nippers. I bend the tail of the pin to the side and twist it into a loop with round-nose pliers.
