DIY envelope - what materials can be used to make a stylish envelope (110 photos). DIY paper envelopes: photos, videos, instructions How to make a beautiful envelope for photos

Of course, the easiest way to buy envelopes is at any post office. But sometimes there are situations when it becomes necessary to make an envelope yourself. Perhaps you need custom packaging for a gift, money, or greeting cards?

Purchased envelopes were almost never original. And if you need just such, then the best way out is to make an envelope out of A4 paper with your own hands. In this case, the originality of the product depends solely on your imagination. But the addressee will certainly appreciate your skills and efforts, because, be that as it may, and manual work is always held in high esteem.

How to make an envelope out of A4 paper

Stock up on white paper or wrapping paper, scissors, and patience. Everything is not at all as complicated as it seems at first glance! The design of the envelope directly depends on the style of the gift and your personal preferences. With the use of vintage paper, chic greeting envelopes are designed, which can be additionally decorated with satin ribbons, old stamps, beads or artificial flowers for solemnity.

DIY small regular envelope

Now we will tell you how to make a small envelope with your own hands, which even a person who is far from needlework can handle. So, if time is pressing and you need an envelope right now, use the following work algorithm:

  1. Take a regular A4 sheet, cut a square out of it.
  2. Bend it straight in the middle, but barely showing the fold.
  3. Fold the edge of the bottom sheet to the center mark.
  4. Fold the side corners of the envelope so that you get vertical folds.
  5. Then bend the top corners, making sure they are larger than the bottom.
  6. As a result, you get a triangle at the top, which must be folded so that the envelope can be closed.

A more difficult option: how to make an envelope out of A4 paper step by step instructions

A homemade envelope can be attributed to the very beginning level of origami science, which even children can master! It should be noted that a very small envelope is obtained from an A4 sheet, but most often there is no need for a larger one. Accordingly, for a large envelope, you need to take large paper sheets.

Stages of work:

  • bending one of the corners of the A4 sheet to the edge, make a square, and cut off the remaining part and put it aside for uselessness;
  • take the resulting square and bend it clearly diagonally, and unfold the resulting triangle with the base in your direction;
  • bend the top of the triangle to the center of the base, first drawing a ruler to mark the exact place of the bend;
  • then we divide the diagonal into 3 parts, placing the points;
  • we bend the right and left corners to certain marks, while fixing the folds with a pressed down ruler;
  • bend the free corner to the previous fold line;
  • then we proceed to the formation of the pocket, for which a small triangle is placed vertically, and the pocket with the help of 2 fingers opens in different directions with fixing the deflections;
  • and at the last stage, fold the top of the envelope to insert a corner into the pocket. All is ready!

DIY a4 envelope: a very simple way

This version of the envelope is considered one of the simplest. To complete it, take an A4 sheet and mark, according to the diagram, 72 mm each from the bottom left and top right. Then draw diagonals and cut off any excess paper. The result is a rhombus, which is the main part of our envelope.

The side corners should be bent towards the middle, and the bottom corner should be slightly higher than the side corners. At the same time, it is very important not to forget to fix each bend with the help of a flat object or a regular ruler.

DIY envelope from A4 sheet: master class

Now we will describe another master class, with the help of which we will seal the information written on the sheet into a beautiful and original envelope. To do this, perform the following manipulations:

  1. Take an A4 sheet, write the text on it and fold it clearly in the middle across.
  2. Lightly mark the center of the sheet and unfold it again.
  3. The upper right corner must be folded towards the middle of the sheet.
  4. Do the same manipulations with the lower left corner.
  5. Now the edge of the sheet on the right must be bent so that the edge of the triangle bent in step 3 coincides with the cut.
  6. Perform similar actions with the left edge of the sheet.
  7. Then you need to unfold the resulting part 90 degrees and bend the upper right corner along the dotted line. In this case, the edges of the figure must match. Perform similar manipulations on the left. The product is ready!

Envelope "soldier's triangle"

During the Second World War, it was not possible to use factory envelopes, so the soldiers themselves made paper triangles on which they wrote the address. A similar skill can be useful in our time. So how to make such an unusual envelope from A4 paper?

Prepare the following tools in advance:

  • A4 sheet of paper;
  • scissors;
  • paper glue;
  • ruler;
  • simple pencil.

Are you wondering how to make an envelope from A4 paper? Step-by-step instructions will help you understand all the nuances:

  • cut a rectangle from A4 sheet, then align the long side diagonally with one of the short sides;
  • when you bend the triangle formed as a result of previous manipulations, it should turn out to be isosceles and supplemented with a paper strip;
  • take the edges of the strip and bend to the base of the triangle;
  • as a result, you get a tongue of the envelope, which is tucked into the pocket at the top and the product is considered ready.

Envelope with heart

Before work, you should prepare scissors, thick paper or cardboard measuring 300x300 mm, thin decorative paper, jewelry in the form of beads or flowers and a satin ribbon.

Take a piece of cardboard and cut a heart out of it using a template. Using the same template, step back 1 cm from the top edge, draw an outline on decorative thin paper, which is the basis for the envelope. Now we draw lines: horizontal, departing from the top of the sheet 120 mm and the same, but lower, departing 100 mm from the first line.

At the points where 2 lines intersect (forming the contour and the bottom), draw two straight lines of a vertical type. All you have to do is cut out the heart and fold it along the drawn lines. At the very end, decorate the resulting product with a satin ribbon and beads. It's great if congratulations are written on the heart itself.

DIY envelope for disk

Does it happen that you need to transport a disc with information, but you don't have any packaging at hand, or do you want to present a disc with memorable recordings to someone? Now we will show you how to make a simple sleeve for a disc.

It is necessary to take an A4 sheet, and place a disc in the center of its lower part, which serves as a guide and helps to avoid errors in dimensions. Then fold the sides, and the disc should be folded upward along with the paper, unfolding to the opposite side.

All that remains is to wrap the top and make sure the disc is in the middle of the envelope. Now take the disc out of the blank and glue the inside of the envelope. When doing this, do not forget that there must be enough disk space! Fold the corners of the top into the envelope and place the cover in the pocket.

Is the form ready? Decorate it to your liking, don't be afraid of a flight of imagination! Your efforts will definitely be appreciated!

I needed an envelope for one case here (I wanted to convey congratulations sealed), and since the postcard was of a non-standard size, I had to quickly make an envelope with my own hands (fortunately, there is enough paper at home). And then everything was as usual - I showed it to my friends, and now I’m making for one envelope for invitations, and the other asks for a template for an envelope for money in order to present a large sum to my husband’s parents for the golden wedding.

I decided, without further ado, just write a small instruction on how to make envelopes. Yes, it seems to me that this is obvious, and everyone can guess how to fold the sheet and glue it to make an envelope, but as practice shows, it is easier for many people to work according to the instructions, especially when it comes to needlework.

What for? This question was asked by my husband when he saw me digging into my scrap-papers. He seems to understand the purpose of the postcards, but the envelopes turned out to be something outrageous for us. So, what are envelopes for:

  • as a packaging for a letter (yes, someone writes paper letters and sends postcards);
  • for wrapping postcards - printing an envelope is much more exciting than just opening a greeting card;
  • handmade money envelopes will help out when you want to give a certain amount of money to someone;
  • for romantic notes and secrets.
Of course, with the exception of postage, all these reasons are not a necessity, but rather a whim. But here I am categorical as never before - sometimes you need to allow yourself joy and whim just for pleasure, otherwise life will become boring and gray. And handmade gifts are great for that.

Different ways

There are many ways to pack a postcard, money or letter so that outsiders cannot look into them, and, perhaps, talking about all the methods is a bad idea, the post will turn out to be too long and a rare bird will fly to its end. Therefore, we will proceed as follows - I will tell you about the main ways to make an envelope for money with your own hands, and at the same time I will show you the works that inspire me. Using basic techniques and templates, you can make an envelope for any occasion with your own hands.

By the way, about templates: I advise you to keep the templates you like so you can be sure that they are always at your fingertips. I started a regular folder on my desktop, where I put my favorite pictures in word-files. However, I will talk about the use of word later.

Simple option

Sometimes you have to make a regular mail envelope for a letter or a postcard yourself - either you don't have it in the nearest store, or the format is not suitable. I usually use a sample for this - I take an existing envelope (for example, from a postcard), measure it with a ruler and make the same paper envelope. But you can go the other way and learn how to make an envelope from A4 paper.

And so that you get an ordinary rectangular envelope, you need to mark a pattern on it, as in the diagram.

The two large parts are the sides of the envelope, it also has a long fold-over flap, and sides that need to be glued. It is best to glue it on the inside, so that there are no seams on the outside. Make the markings on your piece of paper, cut out the blank with sharp scissors, and then glue the sides.

Or you can make such a simple and cute option:

And from 4 circles you can get such an envelope:

The video shows how to assemble it:

How to decorate such an envelope from a4 sheet:

  1. Use watercolor paper that can be used to paint splashes and streaks.
  2. Make beautiful stickers - you can use ready-made ones, or you can download any picture from the network and print it.
  3. You can tie it up.

Manufacturing method without glue

It is not difficult to glue the envelope, but simply folding it out of paper is somewhat more difficult. Of course, the mail is unlikely to accept such an envelope, but for an accompanying card for a gift, it will fit perfectly - the congratulation will look cute and touching.

How to make an envelope without glue: you need to look through the origami templates and choose the one you like; make a pattern; cut out the workpiece; fold and iron well. Or you can fold the paper as in the video below: no scissors and glue are needed, only A4 sheet.

At first glance, everything is easy, right? The second one is also easy, but I still advise you to try to make your favorite beautiful envelopes with your own hands, first from plain paper, and only then from scrapbooking paper. Of course, you can immediately train on scrap paper, but it's not a fact that the envelope will turn out neat the first time, and it will be much more difficult to fix the folds made on thick scrap paper.

How to decorate an envelope folded from paper without glue:

  • make a few holes with a hole punch and tie a beautiful ribbon on the envelope;
  • use a curly hole punch to decorate the edges and corners of the envelope;
  • make an applique from contrasting paper or special cutting.

Origami

To be honest, origami is a dark forest for me, but I made several of these envelopes (although, of course, I prefer a scrapbooking money envelope). So what does it take to make an origami money envelope?
  1. Square sheet of paper.
  2. Ruler for straight folds.
  3. Rolling knitting needle (if you are folding thick paper origami).

By the way, you can make an origami envelope out of paper without glue, which is sometimes very convenient, but such envelopes are not suitable for mail. However, they are very, very beautiful, and it seems to me that if you use such an envelope for birthday money, the birthday person will feel all your care and attention.

Difficult options

I'll tell you a little about how to make scrap envelopes not according to the lesson, but simply using master classes for inspiration.

Scrapbooking is good because it allows you to make envelopes, postcards, scrapbooks and other amenities from literally nothing. Yes, now you can buy a variety of scrapbooking kits, but if you think about it, this technique came to us from the past, when women simply decorated their personal diaries and albums with lace, clippings, and stamping. All these techniques can be used now.

If you are doing scrapbooking (or, like me, you just buy materials from time to time, unable to pass by), then you have certain supplies - lay them out on the table and try to combine one with the other. For example, choose a couple of sheets of paper, select a cut-out, decorative tape, ribbons for them.

If you do not have all this stuff - do not be discouraged, and you do not have to run to the store. Because you probably have something. And from this something you can most likely make a gift envelope. What can come in handy:

  • trimming cardboard, beautiful colored paper;
  • felt and decorative fabrics;
  • unnecessary postcards and photographs;
  • printouts with any patterns;
  • paper of different quality and purpose (even pieces of wallpaper will come off);
  • ribbons, bows, laces;
  • buttons (by the way, a very fashionable trend in scrapbooking);
  • miniature figurines;
  • trimming lace and delicate fabrics;
  • nail polishes, decorative sequins and even unnecessary shadows (they are used to make pseudo-graquelure).
I think you already understood - you can use almost anything to make an envelope!

I will give a step-by-step video lesson that I liked - I have nothing to add here, except that an envelope for a wedding with my own hands or an envelope for a gift card for this mk will be very, very beautiful.

Common templates and some more lessons and examples

I think now you more or less understand how to make an envelope out of paper with your own hands, and the rest of my examples of how to make an envelope for money are just inspirational speeches and various life hacks on this subject, because you have grasped the main point.

If the envelope for the money for the wedding with your own hands turned out to be not too neat, wrap it with lace - it will hide flaws, and at the same time give the product a finished and festive look. A small envelope can be wrapped whole, while a large envelope can be draped gracefully. By the way, the wedding card is usually large - so that the toast fits there. If you just want to attach a card to a gift, or some amount of money, then it is better to use a small congratulatory envelope.

If you are making an envelope out of paper without glue, then support this idea in the design - for example, fold several origami figures with your own hands, and decorate them with a money envelope for a happy birthday - for example, you can fold a flower, a heart or a crane that personifies a wish for happiness ...

Don't want to sign the envelope manually? Check out how to make a paper money envelope using word templates. You can download an envelope for money template below. Choose your favorite templates.

There is another way - first you print wishes, or an address, on a printer, and then watch a master class on how to make an envelope from a sheet of the required format.

How to make a chic origami envelope out of paper? Grab three to four sheets of workout paper and try making your own beautiful envelope from this master class.

In general, feel free to use a word for printing diagrams - it's much easier than cutting out. Also, the Word will help to make a beautiful inscription for congratulations (and we all do not write too smoothly). If you use self-adhesive paper to print the word file, you don't even have to decorate an ordinary paper envelope with anything - you can download the simplest template and decorate it with stickers.

If you need a lot of envelopes for a holiday (for example, for wedding invitations), then it is better to use folded envelopes - this category of products looks very presentable, they are made quickly, and if you do not use glue, then the probability of ruining something is much less.

Do not forget that any master class must be watched and performed in stages - first look at it completely, and then repeat what the master is doing - first we print, then we fold, then we glue. This way you can get the same result as shown in the photo.

No matter how original the envelopes in stores seem to be, they are not endowed with the most important thing - the soul. How do you sometimes want a person to give you a cute note or a gift in an envelope, or send a letter from another part of the world. What it would be like to feel that this is not a soulless purchase envelope, but made by the hands of a person to whom you mean a lot.

In fact, there is nothing difficult in this - just take an A4 sheet and show a little imagination. Whoever says anything, gifts made with your own hands are very valuable. If you think that you do not have enough skills and imagination, we advise you to put these thoughts aside. It's not for nothing that they say: the eyes are afraid - but the hands do it. Well, here we decided to offer you to make an envelope from a sheet of A4 paper with your own hands. In addition, we will show master classes on how you can make an A4 envelope for any holiday, event, and so on. In mastering the information, a step-by-step instruction will help you, in which all actions with a sheet of A4 paper are clearly presented.

Envelope templates

To begin with, to make it easier for you, we will present various envelope templates that can be easily completed with only scissors, 1-2 sheets of A4 paper and glue.

Workshops on making an envelope from A4 sheet

Masterclasses are more than just diagrams. This is already a visual representation of what can be done with a sheet of A4 paper in real life. In addition, master classes will show you how to decorate the resulting envelope in an original way.

To cover all areas, we decided to present master classes on making different types of envelopes from a sheet of A4 paper, depending on their purpose.

So let's get started!

Money envelope made of paper

One of the most important uses of the envelope is as a present to a friend, loved one, or even a colleague. We usually put money in such envelopes, accompanying the gift with a fiery speech. I would not want a homemade A4 paper envelope to get lost among others. Let's try to make it as interesting as possible.

What do we need? We will need:

  • scissors;
  • ruler;
  • 2 sheets of A4 paper (we suggest you take one plain sheet of paper, the other with contrasting drawings);
  • glue;
  • a pair of satin ribbons (one will be top, the other bottom).

We decided to show some creativity and took as a basis the wallpaper that remained after a long renovation. For this reason, the paper will seem different to you in its texture.

Step 1: A 20x40 piece of paper was taken for the base. We will continue to create from this rectangle.

Step 2: Fold a sheet of paper in half inward as shown in the photo above. Now fold the other edges of the piece towards the center as well.

Step 3: Expand the work you just completed. Bend the sides with a corner, as shown in the photo.

Step 4: Now you need to unfold the sheet back. It was the turn of the bright paper. Stick a small piece of colorful paper into the base of the envelope.

Step 5: Hide the remaining bright paper inside to a regular sheet of envelope. You should end up with something like this.

Step 6: Now take the ribbon prepared in advance and glue it in the center of the envelope, only on the back side.

Step 7: We took 2 ribbons - wide white and thin blue. Now we overlay a thin ribbon over the white one to brighten up the envelope.

Step 8: Tie a nice bow in the center of the envelope from the front. Do not forget to process the cut portions of the ribbons. To do this, you can use a regular lighter or matches.

DIY envelope

In order to train the creation of the most ordinary white envelope out of paper for sending a letter, we only need:

  • a sheet of A4 white paper;
  • scissors;
  • as well as double-sided adhesive paper or ordinary glue.

Step 1: Fold a sheet of paper as shown in the photo (with a triangle towards the center). You should have a square with equal sides. The part of the paper that is outside the square will need to be cut off.

Step 2: Now we take scissors and cut off the unnecessary part of the A4 sheet.

Step 3: Place the resulting figure in such a way that in front of you is not so much a square as a rhombus. Try to gently bend the right and left corners of the diamond so that they touch in the center.

Step 4: Bend the intended sides.

Step 5: Pull the bottom corner and bring the three corners together in the center of the shape. Almost everything is ready. The corner at the bottom should be slightly higher than the side corners. Do not touch the upper part of the product yet.

Step 6: Fold the corner of the underside into the pocket. Thus, you ensure the safety of what you wrote there.

Step 7: Fold over the top. All is ready! You can now attach the letter and secure the "cover" of the envelope with double-sided tape or with a regular drop of glue.

Gift envelope

In this master class, we approached the preparation of the gift envelope more seriously. The whole concept is based on scrapbooking motives that fit perfectly into this style.

What do we need?

  • the basis is the scheme;
  • cardboard sheet of paper;
  • 2 types of colored paper and a regular A4 sheet of paper;
  • satin ribbon;
  • glue, scissors, ruler;
  • various small details: beads, butterflies for decoration;
  • and the most amazing tool is the sewing machine.

Step 1: Taking as a basis one of the schemes presented above, we will make just such a cut out of cardboard.

Step 2: Prepare two strips of colored paper, the size of a cardboard sheet. However, do not forget to remove the height a little so that the sheets fit neatly into the envelope.

Step 4: Along the lines of the edge of these leaves, we make a frame from the prepared ruffles.

Step 5: We glue the cut-out colored strips, as in the photo.

Step 6: We glue the paper onto the cardboard (on the outside of our craft). Next, we take out the sewing machine and go along the edges with a white thread (carefully along the top line, without missing the corners).

Step 7: Important! Before you glue the back and the leaflet, thread the satin ribbon through it.

Step 8: Tie a ribbon at the front, add an inscription, decorative elements of your choice. For example, we made a butterfly on the top corner.

Origami envelope

We suggest you watch a video on how to make an original origami envelope with which you can please your children and even friends.

Video: how to make an envelope out of A4 paper with your own hands

You can learn other ways to make cute envelopes with your own hands from the following videos.

Send a letter - modern youth associates this action only with e-mail. But sometimes you have to send paper letters, and you need an envelope for them. In the era of electronics, such a trifle is not found in every home, so you have to think about how to make an envelope out of paper with your own hands. It seems that wisdom is not great, but without the ability to cope with such a task cannot be done.

Sometimes you want no one else to read the greeting card to your loved one, but it happens that you need to put money given as a gift in an envelope. Therefore, we suggest you learn how to make an envelope out of A4 paper. Watch the suggested videos, repeat the steps after the instructor, and you will be able to cope with such a simple task.

First of all, it is necessary to cut a square from a standard rectangular sheet of writing or colored A4 paper by attaching the short side to the long one and cutting off the remaining rectangle. Then we proceed as follows:

  • Putting the two corners together, we define the middle of the inflection line.
  • Having straightened the sheet, we connect one of its corners with the middle of the marked diagonal.
  • In the resulting triangle, the ends are bent a little further than the marked middle.
  • To help hold the envelope, the tips of the folded corners are inserted into each other.

The envelope for the letter is ready. If you put something in it, you can close the upper triangular flap and, if you wish, even glue it with glue. It will fully withstand even postage without falling apart or unstuck. This is an extremely simple design that does not require complex cutting out of forms and gluing of individual elements.

Such an envelope will not fit a sheet of paper folded in half; it will have to be folded at least twice.

Video lesson:

If you use a standard A4 sheet of writing paper as the starting material, you will end up with a small paper envelope measuring 92 x 135 millimeters.

To begin with, the A4 sheet is folded in half along the short side, the fold line is well ironed.

Then one of the sides of the sheet is folded to the fold line and half folded back. Several of these bends form a dense multilayer strip to which the remaining free corners are folded. The whole structure of the envelope is bent along the edges of these corners, the bending lines are carefully ironed.

The resulting fold lines are markings for further bends of the sheet, which already form the envelope itself. At this stage, it is necessary to carefully observe the video instructions so as not to get confused in the sequence of folding the sheet. In some cases, you have to mark the upcoming fold lines with a pencil.

The corners that fold inward keep the envelope from opening.

Video lesson:

A simple envelope for money can be made from a standard A4 sheet of writing paper.

  • The sheet is first bent in half along its length, then again, while the midpoints of the lateral sides are marked.
  • The corners of the sheet on one side are bent to the center line, the sides are bent so that their edges do not reach the center line a little.
  • The structure folds in half to mark the inflection line, the flap with curved triangles folds inward.
  • The structure is bent again, and its rectangular edge is inserted behind the bent corners.

It turns out a rectangular envelope with a flap having folded corners, which quite accurately corresponds to the size of banknotes in denominations of one thousand rubles. The front side remains clean, and you can make any congratulatory inscription or drawing on it. You can put a gift amount of money in an envelope and, without gluing it, hand it over to the hero of the occasion.

Video lesson:

Today we will figure out how to make an envelope out of paper with our own hands. Envelopes can be simple, gift envelopes, differ in shape and size, have no decorations and be difficult to decorate.

In order to make a paper envelope, you and your child will need a little time, materials for work and imagination.

Depending on the age and skills of the child, choose the version of the envelope that he can handle.

Remember that learning from simple to difficult leads to better results and reinforces a sense of success and confidence in the child.

Depending on the simplicity or complexity of your envelope, you will need base material. It can be anything: A4 paper, cardboard, colored paper, pieces of wallpaper, plain brown paper, felt, etc.

Anything that seems appropriate and beautiful is suitable for decoration: beads, buttons, ribbons, lace, sequins, pieces of twine, straw, artificial flowers and much more.

You can get by with a simple applique or drawing, then you will need paints, felt-tip pens, pencils, colored paper.

You will also need scissors, a ruler, pencil and glue.

Prepare a place where you and your child will sit before you begin.

The work area should be well lit and comfortable, and work materials should be at hand.

How to make an envelope out of A4 paper

Plain regular letter envelope

  • Take a sheet of A4 paper and lay it horizontally in front of you.
  • Measure from the upper right and lower left sides by 7.2 cm.
  • Draw lines to the corners as shown in the diagram. Cut off the resulting triangles.
  • Rotate the resulting shape towards you so that it looks like a diamond.
  • Bend the sides evenly in the middle.
  • Fold the top and bottom sides towards the middle.
  • Glue the finished envelope, leaving a tab so that the envelope opens freely.

Rectangular letter envelope

  • Take a sheet of A4 paper. Bend it along the line as shown in the diagram (A).
  • Bend the sides (B).
  • Unfold the sheet and cut the sides along the folded lines as shown in the figure (B).
  • Fold over the remaining side pieces. Fold the envelope and glue the sides together. Close the envelope with the remaining tab (D).

Square envelopes

Simple square envelope

  • Fold the square sheet horizontally and then vertically.
  • Bend the two corners towards the center.
  • Fold the bottom corner forward.
  • The envelope is ready

Origami envelope

  • Take a square piece of paper. Rotate it so that it looks like a diamond. Bend it to form a triangle.
  • Fold the top side of the triangle towards the base of the triangle.
  • Now bend its right corner as shown in the diagram.
  • Do the same with the left corner.
  • Fold the remaining corner from the middle of the envelope
  • Open this corner so that your finger goes into it.
  • Fold the top of the envelope down and insert it into the pocket you just formed.

Beautiful square envelope with rounded edges

  • We take a sheet of paper with equal sides, leave a square in the middle.
  • With the help of a compass and scissors, we form four rounded labels from the side parts.
  • Bend all the labels to the center.
  • It will turn out to be a very nice envelope.

Heart envelope

This is a very simple way. You do not need to glue such an envelope, but simply carefully smooth its folds so that it does not open. But when the recipient opens the envelope, he will see a heart. You can even not put anything inside such an envelope, but simply write pleasant words inside the very heart.

  • So, you need to cut a heart out of paper. To make it even and symmetrical, you need to fold the sheet in half and cut along the contour of one half. When you open the sheet, you get a neat heart. It is important.
  • Unfold the heart to face the table.
  • Bend its sides as shown in the photo.
  • Fold the top and bottom remaining sides towards the middle.
  • The envelope is ready.

Now you know the basic methods for making envelopes. You can experiment and come up with your own unusual options. Any of the above envelopes, even the simplest one, can be turned into a beautiful and gift envelope if you design it in an original way.

Gift envelope decoration

In order for your envelope to become beautiful and individual, you will need different materials. It all depends on your imagination. These can be ribbons, beads, beads, paints, pencils, ready-made bows, flowers and much more.

Invite your child to decorate the envelope himself. For example, paint it with pencils. Show that you can outline the sides of the envelope with felt-tip pens, draw flowers, or just abstractly paint the entire envelope. Also, he can write beautiful words on the front side that you will help him find in advance.
Many children love to glue beads. Let your child prove himself. Give him beads, beads of different sizes and glue. He will be happy to create a masterpiece on his own. You can wrap threads around the envelope, evenly gluing them to the glue so that they do not crumble. This option looks organic even without additional decoration. Although, no one here will set a frame for you, so you can safely glue flowers, bows and beads.
In the process of making envelopes, you can try to do quilling with your child. Perhaps your child will enjoy twisting strips of paper, and at the exit you can get wonderful products for decorating envelopes. Wind various flowers with the child using the quilling technique, and then give him the opportunity to arrange them on the envelope himself as he likes.
Surely you and your little craftsman have already tried making appliqués. These skills will definitely come in handy here. Look at several design options together and come up with a picture that will become an applique for a gift envelope.
