The system of electronic eQSL cards was created back in 1998. Currently, over 55 million correspondents from 302 countries are registered in the eQSL database. Each time you log into the system, the user data is checked for 5-10 seconds, then informational messages issued after the last connection are displayed. For example, debug modes may be reported on some days. To continue working after reading the messages, click on the "Continue" line.

After registering in the system and creating your own eQSL, you will be able to exchange cards. Operating modes are selected by buttons:

  • In Box- log of incoming eQSL
  • Archive- archive of the log of incoming eQSL
  • Reject box- log of rejected eQSL
  • Log / Out Box- outgoing eQSL log
  • Log / Entry- filling in eQSL manually for each QSO separately
  • Upload ADIFauto fill all eQSLs based on data from electronic hardware logs
  • My Profile- change of registration data
  • My eQSL Design- creating your own eQSL
  • My Awards- data on diplomas, for example eDX100, eWAS, etc.
  • Membership- membership in the system (simple, bronze, silver)
  • Help- help
  • Log out- exit from eQSL and exit
  • Community- communication with developers

In Box - Incoming eQSL Journal
When entering the “In Box” mode, a table appears with data on the number of eQSLs received for each band, type of work and months. The AG status of a correspondent depends on whether he has a certificate. More on this will be discussed below when describing the structure of the log. By clicking on the number (eQSL number), a journal for the given range or type of work, month will open. If a correspondent has sent you an eQSL via his electronic journal, then there will surely be many repeated eQSLs. The necessary lines from the journal can be marked and sent to "Archive" - the archive of the incoming eQSL journal. From the archive afterwards it will be possible to send reply eQSLs. If the journal lines are archived, they will not appear in the In Box journal.

The first column of the logs has a "Display" button. You can use it to view and print a card. Printing can be done later if you save the image on the hard drive using the right-click menu "Save Image As ..".

Column "AG" for each line of the log can contain the character "Y" or be empty. If you click on "Y", then you can see the certificate of the correspondent. Empty - no certificate. For diplomas eDX100, eWAS and other links must have a certificate. You can get a certificate by sending a graphic file of your license to the developers.

The last column of the logs has two buttons: red for rejection, green for eQSL confirmation, i.e. sending your reply card with the same communication data as received. The eQSL response record is automatically recorded in the "Log / Out Box" - the outgoing eQSL log. There you can correct or supplement the communication data.

Log / Entry - filling in eQSL manually

In this mode, to send eQSL, you need to enter the data for each radio communication in the offered window. If the correspondent is not registered in the system, then you can make a mark to send him a message to his address by e-mail. You must know the address. All QSO data is automatically transferred in separate lines to the "Log / Out Box" - the outgoing eQSL log.

Upload ADIF - automatic filling of all eQSLs

This is a faster way to fill in the QSO details from the electronic hardware log that supports the ADIF file format. For example, any program creates a "callsign.adi" file, i.e. in ADIF format.

Log / Out Box - outgoing eQSL log

Outgoing eQSL journal lines can be colored differently, i.e. the color of the text and background characters.

1. Gray symbols on a white background mean that the correspondent is not registered in the eQSL system. If there is the text “notify” below the callsign, then by clicking on this word you can send him an e-mail message. You must know the address. When registering in the system and connecting, he will receive an eQSL.

2. Callsign symbols in blue on a white background indicate that eQSL is in the database, but the correspondent has not yet reviewed it.

3. A red background means that the communication data is not filled in correctly.

In the first column of the journal, each line has an "EDIT" button. Using it, you can correct and supplement the communication data. For example, fill in the comment with clarification of the communication data, thanks for the QSO, indicate the need for eQSL for the diploma.

You don't need to take any special steps to send eQSL. Data on all QSOs is automatically entered into a large system base and delivered to the addressee in his "In Box" when connecting to the site. Your e-mail or your correspondent is not used in this case.

If the eQSL has not yet been viewed by the correspondent, you can correct or supplement the communication data.

On subsequent connections to the site, you may notice that the background on some lines of the outgoing eQSL log has acquired a gray color. It means that the reporter has looked at your eQSL and is probably mentally thanking you.

Enjoy your work in the eQSL system.

Confirmation of QSO without QSL cards - The electronic confirmation eQSL.cc - Confirmation of QSO without QSL cards

In principle, it has long been registered in this system, but I have never really used it, and, frankly, I had no idea what it was. I only drew attention to the fact that many radio amateurs, who prefer, often during QSOs emphasize that QSL is only through eQSL.cc and nothing more, especially emphasizing that they have some kind of AG status there. It's time to figure out what it really is, and what this system can offer us.

From the point of view of the designer, the site is not at all, sharp colors, striking (by the way, the same is in the design of the QSL cards themselves from eQSL), but this is not the topic.

Unlike LotW, which was developed and supervised by such an organization as ARRL, eQSL.ss is a very private office, where the main emphasis is on making money, and the convenience of users is the third thing.
Having entered the eQSL website, I immediately start looking for what AG is. It turned out that this is just a confirmation of your identity - that is, verification of your license and document proving your identity - Authenticity Guaranteed.

Honestly, I would not entrust my documents to any private office, but there is an option for passing this verification with little blood - by entering the login and password from the LotW website (as everyone knows, for LotW you must initially send these documents to ARRL, then you can only start to work with the system).

True, I doubted the correctness of the decision to enter a password from another site, but my acquaintances assured me that there was nothing wrong with that. Well, I went through the identification process and received the Authenticity Guaranteed status. It was just interesting for me to see what lies further there, since I could not open any link with electronic diplomas, it was written everywhere that first you need to get this very status:

Prior to obtaining AG status

After obtaining AG status

As you can see, little has changed. In fact, I have lived without this status since the very opening of eQSL.cc, and there was no point in it.

That is, without paying for the use of the service, you will not get access to any diploma. Roughly speaking, first you have to pay the person who came up with this service, and then pay the founder of the diploma for checking the connections and for the diploma itself. So what for is this gasket in the form of eQSL.cc, if nothing is checked on it, but the diploma manager will check it anyway?

Here is the message about the diploma of the American county

And the most stubborn is the confirmation of the QSO. Here's an example - N8S uploaded logs to the server, I upload my log after them. It would seem that all verified connections should be automatically counted and dumped into the archive. And here are the figurines:

N8S at eQSL.cc

I need to go there, squeeze the confirmation and send it myself to the archive. And the idea with the archive is somehow incomprehensible, you rush here and there to find a specific connection.

And yes, if you want to draw a beautiful QSL for yourself so that people can see it, you also have to pay for it. The free account has some very dull designs to choose from.

We even compared the two services, the results are below the link.

" WHAT e-QSL?"

For a long time, radio amateurs have a tradition: after the end of radio communication, exchange confirmations by mail using receipt cards (they are also QSL cards). Subsequently, QSLs have become essential for various degrees. The conditions for the fulfillment of all more or less prestigious diplomas require confirmation.

Recently, due to the widespread use of the Internet, an alternative to paper QSL has appeared - electronic cards. V currently the most common are two services: LoTW (LOG of The World) and e-QSL. I will not describe the first, tk. I understand little in it. I will describe the second, especially since its capabilities have recently expanded. Earlier, it was possible to get some diplomas on this service, using "electronic cards" as confirmation, but now the well-known magazine "CQ-Magazin", which issues some prestigious radio amateur diplomas, said that e-QSL counts for confirming radio communications.

So. What is e-QSL? It is clear that it is more convenient to use them for those who use a computer at their radio station to keep a hardware log. Now it is as much a necessary device in the "shek" as a transceiver. The log program must "understand" the ADIF data format. Internet is also very desirable, but you can go to a friend's house or an internet cafe once a month.

You should start by registering on the site http://eqsl.cc ... To do this, you must have a personal call sign (an observer is also good). Go to the main page and follow the link "Register"

Enter your callsign, mark who you are and press the "Register" button

Please fill out the following form carefully. Fields highlighted in bold are required. I recommend paying special attention to the fields where the Grid LOC is indicated, the WAZ and ITU zones. Subsequently, it will be problematic to change the data entered into them.

Again the "Register" button - the first stage of registration is now complete. Wait for an e-mail with a numerical, four-digit code. If the letter did not come immediately, it's okay, you can disconnect from the Internet altogether. When the code is received, visit the main page again http://eqsl.cc

Enter your callsign, the received code in the new window and create a password for yourself (from 4 to 14 characters). Then click the "Finish Registration" button

Hope your registration was successful. Now you can enter the site using your callsign and password. This can be done both from the main page and from the one that opened after registration.

If you see the following picture, congratulations! You can use the e-QSL service.

Pay attention on the first visit: you may have a flickering icon on the "InBox" link. This means that your mailbox is already waiting for you with electronic QSL from your correspondents who started using the service before you. Do not rush to go there yet. First you need to design your card. To do this, click on the link "My eQSL Design". The following window will open.

There are two types of designs available to you for now. Choose the one you like best and proceed to the next step - choosing a picture for QSL. Look for the link at the top of the "Select Image" screen

You can use only those that have the inscription "FREE" and there is a place where you need to put a "bird" for selection. Then you need to click the "Select Image" button at the bottom of the page. On this, the design can be completed for now (you can change it at any time) Let's go now to look at the incoming mail. At the top of the page, you can see a row of icons. We are interested in the first one, when the mouse pointer is hovering over it, the "InBox" tooltip pops up. When you click on it, if you have incoming mail, you will see something like the following:

As you can see, the mail is sorted in various ways. You can view each group of cards or all together by clicking on the total. The window now looks like this:

You can check the journal entries. You can view the graphics of the cards by clicking on the "DISPLAY" button, print them on a printer or save them as pictures on your hard drive. If the data is correct, confirm it by clicking on the green check mark at the end of the line. On the contrary, if you do not find such a connection, click on the red cross. In the first case, an e-QSL is sent to your correspondent. In the second, a message about an erroneous entry is sent to the correspondent's e-mail. After processing, you can put a tick in the "Archive" box. If there is neither a tick nor a cross at the end of the line, this means that the QSL came in response to yours. That is, you were the first to send the card. How to do it? We will talk about this further.

If you have just started using the service e-QSL , your email address will receive a huge amount of notifications from the server in the first days. Do not panic. This is a temporary phenomenon, and in a few days everything will return to normal.

There are several ways to send e-QSL to your correspondents. The first is to manually enter communication data. To do this, select the "Log Entry" icon at the top. Further, as they say, no comment.

Agree, not a very progressive method? There is another. Select the "Upload ADIF" icon. For this method, you must save all your log (or part of it, in case you add new entries) in advance in ADIF format. I will not explain how to do this, because almost all ezine programs do this, each in its own way. Then specify the path to this file on the page

Click the "Upload It" button and that's it! Your correspondents have left QSL. It is convenient to use the link (see the arrow in the picture) in order to remind yourself when the magazine was "uploaded" for the last time. Upon completion of the filling, a report on the results is issued. I recommend that you familiarize yourself with it.

Well, the third way is to send link data directly from the program. electronic journal... This is done differently in different programs. Review your program's help file.

Next step. You probably noticed that among the notifications that come to your email address, there are some that require you to upgrade your status to AG (Authenticity Guaranteed) ... The fact is that for credit for diplomas issued eQSL.cc , only cards from radio amateurs with this status are "quoted". There are no particular difficulties in obtaining it. To do this, you need to prepare a "scan" of your "license". For radio amateurs of Russia, both documents issued by Roskomsvyaznadzor and a certificate of the formation of a call sign from the RFC are suitable. The scanned file will have to be slightly compressed with any graphics program, since the service does not allow large files in size. But at the same time, the information on the file should be read without problems (those who have difficulties with processing graphic files - send the "scan" to me, I will process it and return it :)).

So, the "scan" is ready, what to do next? Go to your service page and follow the following link:

On the next screen, specify the path to the "scan" and press the button"Upload Now"

Now you just have to wait for your status to be confirmed by someone who has the right to do so. The process can take from several hours to several days. If everything is in order, a notification will be sent to your address.

From now on your QSL are credited to other radio amateurs for completing diplomas issued eQSL.cc ... It should be noted that those cards that you "sent" before confirming the status are also protected. AG ... You can see what diplomas exist on the service and the conditions for their implementation by "clicking" on the icon in the top row"My Awards "But do not flatter yourself, you will not be able to get these diplomas yet. The free cheese is over. To receive diplomas, you will need to raise your status even more. And these are paid services. There are three paid statuses on the service:"Bronze", "Silver" and "Gold" ... However, raise your status to"Bronze" makes sense because magazine"CQ Magazin "also stated that it will support users starting from bronze status. Yes, redesign its QSL already possible in a wider range. I hope that those wishing to upgrade their status will figure out how to do this. This service implies already quite experienced radio amateurs, tk. there are questions of transferring money abroad.

Here. In a small overview, I seem to have outlined a methodology for working with the service. Maybe I missed something, criticize, add. I wish you all the best in our hobby. 73!
