DOCSIS technology or TV cable connection

This type of connection is used by some cable TV operators. The principle of operation of such a scheme is quite simple. A coaxial-type cable brought into apartments to subscribers at the expense of a divider branches into two outputs:

  1. one channel works directly on the TV;
  2. the second output is connected via a modem using DOCSIS technology (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specifications).

This method has not become widely used due to significant drawbacks:
